Several recent events, namely the war in Ukraine, the pandemic and the maritime transport crisis, highlight the drawbacks of the current model of globalization where states abdicate a large part of their independence and autonomy, limiting their possibilities to react to such events. In this context, it is urgent to rethink a new balance between globalization and nationalism, looking for a more adequate way to satisfy national needs without, therefore, restricting economic growth and the well-being of consumers.
